The younger generation of physicists is a treasure which should be allowed to unfold and gain recognition. To achieve this aim each year Institute of Applied Research and Department of Semiconductor Physics from Physics faculty grants with nominal scholarships of academician Jurgis Viščakas.

Scholarships aim - to promote student research work carried out in semiconductor physics and materials sciences, optoelectronics, photonics, optics and engineering fields, and other fields related to the Institute of Applied Research and Department of Semiconductor Physics activity.

"The Academician Jurgis Viščakas scholarship is the begining of the way for youth to research heights highlifted for Lithuania by our famous scientist ant teacher". Prof. Artūras Žukauskas scholarship initiator.
